Back with a new blog post topic and this week is a big one! At Mystical Moments we hear of so many couples missing out on having a private mini photoshoot at their wedding, so we wanted to share why we feel it is important to do so.
Weddings are busy and there is a time slot for everything, so why not make some time with your photographer and get away from the wedding party for a while? We have noticed along the way that the bride and groom are rarely alone on the day. They both spend the night and morning away from each other until the ceremony and then everyone is rounded up for photos. Throughout the reception each spend time with family they haven't seen in a while, or friends they are excited to share the day with. At dinner there is a table full of people, the cake cutting and first dance means being surrounded by guests all looking closely. This is why we say it is important to book a time slot for some photographs with just the bride and groom. As after all, the day is all about them.
We feel they both can really use this time to connect for a few moments as they stand ever so still and stare into each others eyes for a second in peace. They deserve to have this alone time and having it photographed is the perfect way to be able to look back and remind yourself of those feelings you had in those moments. Memories are so fragile and it is sad that we forget them. If only memories could be like dreams in Roald Dahl's The BFG, capture all the good ones in jars and keep them forever.
The time spent away from the wedding party is romantic but can also be really fun, this is the bride and grooms time to be silly with each other without one hundred eyes watching them. Enjoy the day for a minute and be yourselves! Hold, laugh and maybe even cry with each other, have it all captured as a memory you will never forget. Intimate and important moments are often missed in the real world so just enjoy this time and connect. Enjoy the scenery, take in the smells and the small details around you.
